Welcome to a unique evening with bansuri flute master Hari Prasad Chaurasia, a living legend in Indian classical music. In connection with the 100th anniversary of the legendary tabla player Pandit Chatur Lal, Hari Prasad Chaurasia is visiting Stockholm as part of an international tribute tour. Chaurasia is one of India’s most influential and beloved musicians, and has brought North Indian classical music to a global audience for over 60 years. With his expressive playing on the bansuri – an Indian bamboo flute – he has collaborated with artists such as George Harrison, Jan Garbarek, Zakir Hussain and Ravi Shankar.
The concert begins with a short film about Pandit Chatur Lal, followed by a traditional tabla solo by his grandson Pranshu Chatur Lal, one of the most exciting young tabla players in India today. This is followed by an exclusive concert with Hari Prasad Chaurasia and ensemble, where some of his disciples also participate.
