Stockholm Sangeet Festival is back at the beautiful venue of Musikaliska with the main concert of 2022 that will be a rare, classical duo-concert of Zakir Hussain and Niladri Kumar -two artists in the absolute top of Indian classical music.

The performance Bindu Sagar connects two of India´s classical dance forms: Odissi and Bharatanatyam in a celebration of the ocean- Sagar. It is also a celebration of Devi, mother of the universe and the source of creation, in her numerous different forms. The two dancers explores hymns in Sanskrit and poetry by Rabindranath Tagore by spoken word in dialogue with abhinaya, the expressive and narrative aspect of Indian classical dance. Hand gestures- mudras, sculptural poses, voice and intricate rhythms come together creating poetry in motion to the music played on sitar.
