SSF2023: Neel Ganga

Smedjan, Studieförbundet Bildas Rephus på Söder, 16:00-18:00 ca.
Söder Mälarstrand 47, 118 25 Stockholm

The final event of this year is the project Neel Ganga in which the music of the Nile meets the music of the Ganges. It also shows how the music is transferred not only across continents but also across generations; from the Kawala maestro from Egypt, Ahmed Al-Arnab and the Sitar maestro from India, Rabindra Goswami to their disciples Adham Al-Sayyad and KG Westman respectively. Accompaniment supporting both traditions is provided by international acclaimed master percussionists Sinan Slewa on derbuka and Suranjana Ghosh on tabla.
